Low Back Pain Awareness: You Are Not Alone

LOW BACK PAIN AWARENESS:

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

By Biagio Mazza

Low back pain is something that affects about 80% of Americans at one point or another over the course of their lifetime.

We want to spread the awareness of the problem, and really the epidemic, that low back pain is.

Many people think that when their back goes out or they have a problem with their back, that it can be a one-time thing. Unfortunately, if you do not do something to intervene, about 60% of the time you will have a recurrence of that low back pain within a one-year time period. Even if that first episode only lasts a day or two, it's going to happen again, statistically 60% of the time.

This is a big issue, not just for the public. It's a big issue for the medical community.

One out of every 10 patients that goes to a primary care physician goes for low back pain, believe it or not. It's one of the biggest reasons why people miss work. It's one of the biggest reasons for disability in the country, and it's a huge problem.

It's something that we see on a very regular basis at Elite and the problem is not getting better, it's getting worse.

There are a number of reasons for that, but we think that it's helpful to just be aware of what the challenges are surrounding low back pain when you are focusing on yourself. You are not alone. That's a very important thing to realize, and you have to make sure that you're working with people that see people with low back pain on a very regular basis to have strong effectiveness.
